Nice dick, I'd vote for it.

In response to a friend screaming for his resignation, but it turned out to be blog sized so....

-When you're 21, you're a woman. I know there's some grey areas here in terms of age differences, but I've already read several things framing him as a pedophile, which is going too far. It's two consenting adults

-I'm not going to advocate firing him for showing his penis because I didn't vote for him to Not show his penis. I voted for him to protect the interests of middle class NYC voters and he's done an amazing job at that. I also think he does the much needed job of calling bullshit bullshit on the house floor. What he does with his penis is between him and the related parties.

-Some women do like it. You might not, you might not know anyone who Says they do but.... there's over 150 million women in this country. I have to imagine some of them like junk shots.

-Yes, I live in NYC. Yes, I feel comfortable with him advocating my issues. Yes, I will continue to vote for him, and give money to him through my union's PAC. And when he runs for mayor, I'll vote for him then.

-What two consenting adults do between themselves is their business. It's not America's business. The fact that we've built such a screwed up system that we feel everyone of our elected officials has to be completely clean of moral failings(which somehow carries on in spite of our constantly being letdown when they don't) does not change the fact that what two consenting adults do is nobodies' goddamn business but those adults.

-If he was on the news every night screaming about Jon Ensign, I'd care. If he was screaming about Chris Lee I'd care, because that would be hypocrisy. And pandering, which would show me you had no problems just telling me whatever I wanted to hear.

But that's typically a GOP game, to yell about moral virtue while you break those same rules in private. All this shows me is that men in power do stupid things to sleep with pretty young women, and that's a tale as old as time, one I'm pretty sure an overwhelming majority of our elected officials in DC are guilty of. Don't for a second think that if he resigns you got rid of the only naughty boy on the hill.

Who knows, maybe it's actually good for us. Just to draw a comparison.

-Clinton: Fooled around. Balanced budgets. No deficit. Relatively responsible global stewardship. No wars.

-Bush: Did not(to our knowledge) fool around. Massive deficit. Out of control budget spending. 20 year+ back step in global stewardship. Two wars.

TL;DR? As a husband it was an amazingly stupid thing to do. As an elected official... I didn't vote for him to keep it in his pants. I voted for him to do things like balance the budget, protect our environment, fight for the middle class, and make sure people like the 9/11 first responders get proper health care coverage. And he's fought like a lion for all of that so I honestly could not give a flip who he tweets his willy to.

  1. I especially like this post, because I didn't have to write exactly what I was feeling. I could just read it. Thank you Brett.

BTW @tweetshiswilly would be an amazing handle.
