Not everything needs to be for profit.
Bullet point version.
-Pennsylvania turns control of several juvenile prisons over to private companies, paying them a per inmate fee to house Penn teens found guilty in court.
-Prison officials from said companies make deals with corrupt judges.
-Based on those bribes, said judges begin sentencing teenagers to imprisonment in these private facilities. Many of these teenagers are later found to be either completely innocent, or guilty of crimes usually punished with much lesser penalties.
Moral of the story, this is why we don't privatize everything.
